Welcome, Philadelphia Mental Health Professionals!

I am the mother of an adult with Bi-Polar issues. I am looking to start a group that can help understand and change the maze of confusion in helping adults with Mental Illnesses. Most groups out there that claim to be support only give you info that is on internet...just a shoulder to cry on...but we need more...our family member needs more....I want to start a movement of change....If the state is will to give boarding homes funds to care for them, why not give it to families that are willing to care for them! When does the right of privacy for the mentally ill clash with what is in their best interest! What about GOOD care and not just lip service. Many organizations are just for show and federal monies....why we suffer and our family member suffers! Let's meet and talk....Let's make these organizations put up or shut up!....I don't want my son..wandering the streets..in jail...in hospital or some dirty trashy boarding home....But I need help with him in my home....I work daily and can't properly monitor him...what about you? What's happening in your life? Let's fight the system
